The most buzzed queer romance movies netted in Academy Awards 2018 was 'Call Me by Your Name' by Luca Guadagnino written by James Ivory based on the novel of the same name by Andre Aciman. His film gained four nominations in the 90th Academy Awards.

After a long career as a filmmaker, James Ivory won his first Academy Award for the Best Adapted Screenplay for his work on the film 'Call Me by Your Name'. And becomes the oldest Academy Award winner at 89.
